About The Law Office of Roger M. Nichols

Roger Nichols is a native West Texan. Roger earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He also earned the Master of Library Science Degree from the University of North Texas in Denton. Roger earned his law degree (J.D.) from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Roger Nichols was in private practice in Abilene, Texas from 1990-2003. The practice was primarily criminal defense. Roger represented clients in parole revocation hearings beginning in 1990. In 2003, he was appointed Assistant General Counsel to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. In his capacity as AGC to the Parole Board, Roger summarized capital murder cases for review by the Board and the Governor. He served as litigation liaison to the Texas Attorney General’s Office. Roger was in charge of the legal review of the appeals of parole revocation hearings (also known as Motions to Reopen). Roger was on the legal team that advised and trained the parole revocation hearing officers. Roger has been a presenter at the Post-Conviction Seminar for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has been asked to testify before the Texas Sunset Commission on parole issues. Roger is particularly qualified to represent your loved ones before the Parole Board. He is the only lawyer in the State representing clients before the Board who has actually worked for the agency! Take advantage of Roger’s special qualifications for your loved one’s case.

Note from Roger:
NEVER go before any legal proceeding or forum without counsel. Whether a parole presentation, before a Board Panel, or a parole revocation hearing in a county jail, I am uniquely qualified to fully represent your loved one. Place your trust in my special expertise and experience.
I carry a smaller caseload so that I may give your case special personal attention. I personally interview my clients. No assistants or paralegals do this critical stage preparation. I do not believe that proper representation can be accomplished with an impersonal approach. Your representation is personal and tailored to your specific needs. This is both a professional and a lifestyle decision. It works to the advantage of everyone concerned.
